When I first started handing out my business cards, I found that people would look at them, smile and say, “So, what do you do?”

I recognized that as being a huge problem! Why? Because if after you’ve given your business card to someone and they still don’t get what you do, that means you need to bring clarity to your brand and message.

Much like your elevator pitch, your business card should let people know who you are, what you do, who you help, how you help them and finally the best way or ways to contact you (and connect with you online).

Following is what I’ve included on my business cards to help people immediately understand what I do and how I can help them solve their problem:

BEST ONLINE CALENDAR FOR CONSULTANTS & COACHES (AND OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS)

Many of my clients and class participants have asked me what I think is the best online calendar to use to book appointments with their clients.

I recommend vCita’s online calendar for service-based businesses as I’ve tried several online scheduling tools, but have found vCita to be exactly what my business needs. It’s made it much easier for me to manage my calendar, and much easier for clients to reach me — especially this time of year when I am extremely busy.

I’ve been using vCita since 2014, and I tell you, when I realized how much vCita was benefiting my business, I was hooked. I became a partner and began helping my clients to start taking appointments from their clients as well.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR LINKEDIN CONNECTIONS (AND DATA) IN 10 EASY STEPS

Lately, we’ve been reading a lot of news concerning data breaches within our favorite social media sites — with Facebook being the most talked about.

Many people have decided to delete Facebook and some have decided to delete all of their social media accounts altogether. In my opinion, that’s somewhat of a drastic step (especially if you’re a small business owner).

One thing you may not know you can do is download a full archive of the data that you have posted on your social media accounts. That includes LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and your Google accounts!
